The current project activity is owned by NSL Sugars (Tungabhadra) Limited, one of the key sugar plants owned by NSL Group. This project is located in Desanur Village, Siruguppa Taluka in the district of Bellary in Karnataka state. The main scope is generation of carbon credits due to an existing 28.2 MW bagasse-based co-generation unit at the Desanur sugar mill. These scope is well recognized activity under GHG mechanisms due to the reduction of carbon emissions as compared to their respective baseline scenarios viz. displacement of grid electricity with the export power produced & supplied by NSL. The project has also been contributing to sustainable development in the region since its commissioning.
